VLC media player 是一套屬於 Open Source 的影音播放軟體，它能播放的類型，包山包海，像是 DVD、音樂CD、VCD 及串流媒體。 它除了提供跨作業系統平台的版本之外，也無視 DVD 區碼限制，另外還能讓使用者自訂操作面版，是一套有強大功能和極高彈性的播放軟體。
