* Connection settings: Having issues signing on? AIM can help you configure your firewall or proxy settings. Look for the Connection tab in your settings manager.
* Status message in the Buddy List: Broadcast a personal message to your friends, even when you're available. Simply type your message in the field under your screen name at the top of your Buddy List. It will appear under your screen name on their Buddy List and when they hover over you name too. More status integration is coming soon.
* My Quick Access Panel: Rollover your screen name at the top of the Buddy List and get one-click access to your settings, email, expressions and buddy info
* Buddy Details: From the Buddy List, roll over your buddy's screen name and take action. Send a text message, call their PC, send an email and more. Don't forget to try expanding the form and save info for your buddy.
* Tips from AIM: Did you know you could do that on AIM? Look for a tip on the IM window.
* Updated Advertisement placement: Conveniently moved to the bottom of the Buddy List to allow easier access to your menus.
* Text Message Mode: Don't waste your mobile phone text messages. Send them from AIM. Clicking the TXT Msg button on the IM form is just one new place you can access this mode.

The feedback you submitted during the last series of beta tests was heard loud and clear. As a result, some new features and functionality will be added to the client. These feature's are currently planned to be added gradually.

Some examples of features slated to be added are proxy settings, several cool skins, and a one-click method to send an SMS text message to your buddy. This is just a subset of upcoming features and you will be the first to use and submit your comments against them.

The new version of the AIM 6 beta software is 6.2.14.2. You may determine this by going to Help and then selecting About AIM. This release incorporates the following new features:

* The Buddy Notes feature, also known as Buddy Notes in AIM 5.9. The Edit/New Buddy window now offers a Notes field. The Notes entered against a buddy are surfaced in the Quickview tooltip for that buddy.
* A new theme, black chrome, has been added to the color changer, accessible from the small circular button next to Help on your Buddy List.

The new build also offers some functionality changes:

* A self-extracting installer will be used to deliver the build to your machine. This means that there should be fewer problems with downloading installers for this and future versions of the software.
* The Notifications window has been redesigned to look much smaller and use Arial font text as opposed to the Times New Roman font that was used in previous versions of the software.
* The Settings window is now accessible from the Sign On screen. To get to it, simply select or enter an already-saved user name in the Screen Name field and then either click the Settings link below the Sign On button or go to Edit then select Settings.

- There are several bug fixes in this build, including a bug where the Buddy List scrolls up when a screen name towards the bottom of the list is hovered over. .

- The build also includes improvements and bug fixes to the Live Video feature. You are now able to display your video session in full screen mode. To do so, start the video session, select Actions, then select Display Video Full Screen. You can also toggle your camera view in the video screen. To do this, select Actions, then select Show My Camera View. Please help us verify the improvements to the Live Video feature by participating in the Live Video Focus Test in the beta area.

- The application now features a color picker that allows you to change the color of Buddy List and other related window elements. The picker, located next to Help menu on your Buddy List, includes 10 colors, including the default orange color.
- Another new feature gives you the ability to change the style of your Buddy List's groups and screen names. You can do this via your Settings window's Style tab.
- Sub-sorting of Buddy List groups has been implemented in this build. Simply select the appropriate menu item from a Buddy List group's right mouse button contextual menu to invoke this new functionality.
- Your Buddy List window can be docked to left or right of your desktop. You may turn docking on via your Settings window's Buddy List tab.
- UI changes have been introduced with respect to the way linked screen names are displayed in your Buddy List. The status button of all linked names should now be displayed at top of your Buddy List. Clicking a screen name's button will display the buddies associated with that name.

- Improved Microsoft Windows Vista compatibility.

- Buddy List font change
- Reduced white space between the screen names on your Buddy List
- Reduced white space in the area on top of your Buddy List (where your SN and away drop-down appear)
- The invisibility icon has been changed
- Module icons have been changed
- There is also a slight change to the color of module icons

- A popularly requested feature, Offline IMs, has been added to the client. You may now send IMs to offline buddies who use any client that supports AIM and have them delivered when they sign on. Users on these non-AIM 6 clients will only be able to receive Offline IMs and will be able to turn the feature off by sending '*Off' to the accompanying System Message. Please note that you can only send Offline IMs to buddies who have you on their Buddy Lists. Furthermore, you may only send and/or receive 40 Offline IMs in a 24 hour time period.
- The IM Catcher has been removed from the client. In its place are an Away Status window and an Unknown Sender's curtain. The former will appear when you are Away and allows you to do things such as disable sounds and pop-up notifications, send IMs while Away without a change in status and return from Away. The latter traps IMs from Unknown Senders and can be turned off in General IM Settings. It allows you to report IM spam, and close or show the IM.
- Message Logging is a new opt-in, PC-based feature. You may now log your conversations with other buddies. The feature can be toggled in General IM Settings. To view your logs you have to choose 'Show Logs' from the Actions menu at the bottom of your Buddy List.
- This version of the software also migrates your preferences from AIM 5.9 if you do not already have a version of AIM Triton (prior to AIM 6) installed. If you have AIM Triton 1.x or 2.x installed, none of your AIM 5.9 settings will be migrated.
- There are other new features in this client. The 'eye' button next to your screen name on the Buddy List allows you to toggle between visible and invisible state. The formatting toolbar has also been redesigned again. Also, note that AIM 6 installs into "C:Program FilesAIM6" which means it can co-exist with versions of AIM Triton on your machine.

This build has minor tweaks since 1.3.24.1, but one of the recent additions was a new menu item to link to Triton Plugins, where you will be able to download the latest AIM Gadgets and the AIM Location Plugin.

- IM: Some smileys sent from AIM 5.9 are not displayed in Triton's IM History window
- Buddy List: Friendly names are not displayed on Buddy List
- IM: Font randomly reverts to Arial 10
- Notification: Active window loses focus when IM notification window appears
- Outgoing IMs from Triton are delayed for up to 20 seconds
