AbiWord 免費擁有與微軟公司所出產的Office系列之一的WORD軟體一樣的功能，介面和操作方式對常使用的WORD人而言，能非常快速的上手來使用。

• 要使用辦公室應用軟體，再便宜的版本也要花幾千元，而此軟體則不需要花你一毛錢，只需要下載回來安裝即可使用。
• 操作介面要說跟WORD一樣應該也不為過，你只要有用過WORD軟體，在使用上就沒有什麼太大的問題。
• 此軟體的檔案非常小，只佔硬碟空間近6MB的空間，開啟文件的速度比WORD還要快，存成的檔案格式是支援WORD的DOC檔。
